When does the program begin and end?

Classes begin at 8am on the 26th and conclude at Noon on the 31st.  Accommodations begin on the afternoon of the 25th; Check out is the morning of the 31st.

How many participants in the AM Master Classes? 

The a.m. Master Classes will have anywhere from 50 to 100 participants.

How many participants in the intensives? 

It is hard to say.  Class sizes will definitely be small enough to assure individual attention and a profound and memorable learning experience.  You may read testimonials from last year's participants by clicking HERE.  

Can I attend for part of the retreat? 

Because our program is intended to be an immersion in the teachings, we cannot accept part-time attendees.  However, we will be allowing drop-ins for the A.M. Master Classes, depending on availability of space.  Visitors may also attend the evening Satsangs featuring keynote lectures and kirtan with Wah!.

What's the cancellation policy?

All requests for refunds must be made in writing, accompanied by a YFLP original receipt or a copy of your cancelled check. A 100% refund, minus a $50 processing fee, will be issued until April 20,2003; 75% until May 5th; 50% until June 8th. After said date sincere efforts will be made to refund tuition and housing fees based on wait-list participation.

Can I change my master class track after I arrive?

Yes.

Can I change weeklong intensives after I arrive?

You may change your weeklong intensive before beginning day 2.  After day 2, you may change only with the permission of the teacher with whom you would like to study.

Will there be vendors/exhibitors?

There will be a small number of vendors.  

What additional services will be available?

When do classes and accommodations begin and end?

How far is the airport?

SEATAC airport is about 90 minutes from Western Washington University (WWU)  in Bellingham, Washington.  There are several shuttle services with direct service to WWU.  We are currently negotiating a discounted fare and regularly scheduled pick ups for Sunday, July 25th and Saturday, July 31st.  We will update all registered participants with complete information regarding ground transportation to and from SEATAC closer to the date of the event. 

VANCOUVER BC airport is about 45 minutes from WWU.

Do you have driving directions to WWU?

We suggest that you visit www.mapquest.com or Yahoo! Are there discounts with any particular airlines?

Wilson Travel has contracted discounted fares with 3 major carriers.  Contact Denise and Mary at (800) 836-2886 from  the USA, and (518) 234-3578 outside the USA.

What kind of ground transportation is available to transfer us to the WWU?  

Flying to Bellingham is a very good option for anyone who is considering Sea-Tac, but not wishing to drive or shuttle themselves to Bellingham.  We strongly recommend it.  There are a number of Horizon Air flights daily to/from Sea-Tac.  This is a very short flight.  From the airport it is about 12 miles by taxi to the Campus @ about $15. http://www.yellowcabinc.com/index.html

What do I do when I arrive?

The first thing you will do is register with WWU accommodations and receive your room assignment and some general information about WWU.  Either immediately thereafter, or later in the day at your convenience, please check in at the Yoga For Living Productions (YFLP) registration table to receive your ID badge and other information pertaining to the retreat.  It'll be painless, we promise.

Are the accommodations singles or doubles?

Our onsite accommodations are single occupancy rooms in a 2-room apartment with a shared bathroom and common living space.  

What should I bring?

Bring all of our own yoga props and supplies, such as mats, blankets, straps, blocks, meditation cushions, etc.  Standard bedding and towels will be provided the WWU.  There is an excellent large grocery store in the immediate area should you need to purchase personal care items.  Summer evenings and early mornings can get a little chilly in the Pacific Northwest, so please bring a sweatshirt, sweater or a light jacket along with some warming yoga wear.  Summers tend to be on the dry side, but an umbrella might come in handy.

What if I want to stay off campus?  What do you recommend?

How do we arrange for Vegan/ or Vegetarian meals?

It is not necessary to arrange for vegan or vegetarian meals;  there will be vegetarian and vegan options at every meal, including an excellent fresh salad bar with many selections.  The focus of the catering will be vegetarian and vegan gourmet. 

Is there a pay-as-you-go food facility on campus as well?

Yes.  There are various establishments on the WWU campus that sell espresso, smoothies, healthy snacks, sweets, beverages and other yummy foods. Summer hours are limited.  In addition, the main WWU dining facility is available to pay-as-you-go guests, but we strongly suggest that you purchase a commuter meal package if you are not staying on campus.

Can I stay an extra night on campus on Saturday the 19th or Saturday, July 31st?

Unfortunately, WWU can not accommodate YFLP guests for additional nights.  There are many hotels in the Bellingham area (http://www.ac.wwu.edu/~admit/directions.html#places  ).  And there are several very affordable hotels located only minutes away from SEATAC.  Click HERE to link to to a list of hotels near the airport.  The page will open in a new window that you can close to return to our site.

What time do the events  end on the last day?

Noon.

How can I arrange to be in the same apartment as my friend(s)?

We will do everything in our power to accommodate special requests.  Please direct all special requests to info@yogaforliving.com .

Western Washington University

What are the meeting rooms like?  

WWU has a brand new health and recreation center that is state of the art, with floor to cieling windows, overhead fans, beautiful wood floor, excellent ventilation systems, etc.   Most of our meeting rooms will be in this building!

What is the campus like?

WWU is a medium-sized campus with modern  and traditional architecture and a very warm vibe.  Bellingham is truly breathtaking, and the campus is surrounded by excellent hiking trails and beautiful views.  Nature abounds on and around the campus property, including giant maples, evergreens and nearby Bellingham Bay. Are there cooking facilities?

There are no cooking facilities during summer sessions at WWU.

What is the parking policy?

Parking is available for a nominal daily fee paid directly to WWU.

Will we be sharing the campus with other program(s)?

There will be one other small program sharing the campus with us.  However, the campus quite large and we have our own dining facility. 

Will there be a meditation room available during non-program hours?

Yes.

Do you offer scholarships?

We are not able to offer scholarships at this time.

YOGA ALLIANCE CREDIT

How do I receive credit towards my RYT with The Yoga Alliance?

The Yoga Alliance has acknowledged that they will accept Six Days on Freedom attendance toward 200-hour RYT.  As our entire program has not been fully-reviewed by the Yoga Alliance, you must apply for Independent hours towards 200-hour level RYT.   This process is very simple:  You will receive a certificate of completion from YFLP which you will present to the Yoga Alliance with your application for your RYT.  Please visit www.yogaalliance.org for more information on RYT applications, fees, etc.

How many credits to I receive and how are they apportioned, i.e., to which YA categories?

You will receive 40 credits towards your RYT, distributed according to your discretion.

How is payment for meals and accommodations calculated and arranged for my traveling companions who are not participating in the program?
