Innovative & Traditional Massage Therapies

Robert is a gifted healing practitioner with loving therapeutic touch. -- Jeanette Maturo, Physical Therapist

I currently see individual clients for relaxing, therapeutic, and healing  massage and bodywork sessions.  The work I offer has been described as uplifting,  profound, magical, intuitive, unique and precise.

My pledge to every client, regardless of their desired outcomes or intention, is as follows:  Each treatment and session will be unique, intuitive, and skillful, free of the limitations, compromises and narrow-mindedness that often arise with an adherence to conventions and routines.  To me, each session is fresh, and anything is always possible.

My techniques and methods are informed by the many gifted teachers, clients and peers who have honored me with guidance and support in subjects as fascinating as they are diverse.  In varying degrees, each session is an amalgam of:  Western massage techniques and methodology, including human anatomy, physiology, pathology and kinesiology; Thai Massage methodology, including sen lines and marma points; Ayurveda, with particular focus on the circumstances and conditions that create and maintain physical and emotional well-being, or its opposite; the yogic science of energy management, including prana and chakras; energy anatomy, including Bioenergetic character structures, archetypal patterning, and the "quantum mechanical body;" and Buddhist psychology, with particular attention to the inseparability of mind and body, and the subsequent arising and dissolution of physical conditions (both and unwanted).

Authentic Thai Massage: An Ancient Healing Art

"Cuozzi grasps my wrists and pulls slightly back.  I feel like a Viking goddess strapped to the prow of a sailing ship, free and open."  -- Anne Miller, from Restorative Stretch, a feature article in the Albany Times Union, 2007

Traditionally called Nuad Boran, Thai Yoga Bodywork is an ancient healing art. The technique combines aspects of stretching, palming, acupressure, gentle rocking, Ayurveda and energy balancing. With a rhythmic, flowing and meditative approach, a skilled practitioner assists a fully-clothed recipient into a sequence of yoga-inspired postures, creating a deeply relaxing and therapeutic  experience.  Treatments are given on either a comfortable floor mat or a sturdy massage table.  Drawing on over a decade's experience in meditation, somatic therapies, meditation and yoga practice, I offer clients more than a repetitive routine, but a uniquely designed session.  My intention in each session is energetic rebalancing, and profound healing on the level of body, mind and spirit.

stellar bodywork!
Each time I receive bodywork from Robert, about a third of the way through the session, something occurs to me: I want every person I love to have the chance to receive this healing touch. Robert sets a new standard for what the massage experience can be, with all the right qualities: informed, skilled, patient, gentle, intuitive and strong. Encore!

Robert Is magical!
I have never in my life had a massage like Roberts! The word that comes to mind is intuitive. Each massage is different because he reads what my body needs that day. Unlike Robert, I have been bored with other peoples massage due to the same old routine, lack of creativity and presence. He will formulate my session drawing from an array of worldly techniques. Im so happy he moved to Massachusetts! Hooray! Otherwise I may not have known a higher level of massage existed. Thank You Robert!

Amazing!
I recently had my first massage, from Robert, in Get Really Happy!'s new space at 39 Main St. The space made me feel very relaxed, even before the massage began, and I was nodding off the whole time. I got on the table a tense, sore, mess, and I got off the table feeling like a new man, loose, and energized. It was exactly the massage I needed! Thank you, Robert!

Robert is by far the best massage therapist I have ever been to, and I have visited many. He really understands what an athlete needs, and I always leave feeling refreshed and relaxed
